The core design concept of Yeşilköy House combines two contrasting ideas, “fragments of past" and "mystic modernity,” which intersect spatially and materially to create a rich narrative.
“Mystic modernity” emerges through a striking black color palette. The color black not only evokes a Gothic feeling but also enhances the modern aesthetic with the selected materials. At the center of the house, a sculptural staircase serves as the structural core, dramatically contrasting with the surrounding light-colored materials.
On the other hand, "fragments of past" comes out with rich wood textures and classical-era detailing. These subtle classical references evoke emotional memories. The interplay between cold and warm layers from different periods creates a strong visual and emotional balance.
Finally, a diverse selection of natural materials is used to emphasize and differentiate the conceptual layers, with each adding its own narrative to the architectural composition.
